is an experimental research collective based in the
Sociology Department at Goldsmiths, University of London. It is currently co-directed by Kat Jungnickel and Melissa Nolas.
The aim of METHODS LAB is to make social research responsive to social life – to bring it alive. Its purpose is to stimulate creative debate as well as support and enable examples of the ways in which the practice of sociology is changing, to help expand what social research can look like today, and explore how sociology can best respond to the demands of contemporary users of social research.
Practice Research
METHODS LAB is particularly interested in practice research, connecting it to broader work at Goldsmiths and beyond.
Activities
METHODS LAB runs research events such as annual lectures, panels, masterclasses, experimental workshops and exhibitions. We support student led activities and exhibitions. We also host visiting researchers.
