Social Research for Public Engagement Exhibition

Friday 28 March 5 – 9pm

St. James (the Church)

METHODS LAB is always pleased to help support the annual shows put on by the MA Visual Sociology students. This event is the end of year show for the course.

The exhibition Above & Below, realised through the collective efforts of 18 artists seeks to create a space where the sociological, imagination is employed  employed to rationalise, reconstruct, and challenge the understanding of the invisible metaphor and material realities of above and below. Through visualisation and materialisation, the exhibition seeks to reveal the hidden workings embedded within them.

Engaging with themes such as architecture, outer space, sculpture, media culture, rituals, death, academia, and everyday expression, the participating artists explore how these domains shape and are shaped by the dynamics of above and below. This exhibition invites you to contemplate and participate in the visible and invisible manifestations of above and below-and how these constructs are deeply ingrained in our daily lives.
